Flyers head coach Peter Laviolette confirmed this morning that Brian Boucher will be his Game 3 starter. High Hopes has since learned that Sergei Bobrovsky will be a healthy scratch for the first time this season, in favor of Michael Leighton, who spent the vast majority of the year with the team’s AHL affiliate, Adirondack Phantoms.
Leighton, who began the season as an injured reserve, was sent down shortly after he returned from his IR stint. He has played just one game for the Flyers this season.
Bobrovsky does not have a stall in the Flyers Buffalo locker room, while both Boucher and Leighton do.
Laviolette did not confirm our report, saying he will not discuss the lineups further.
