Chris Pronger, who left Wednesday night’s game in Montreal early – missing the third period – apparently suffered a broken right foot.  His injury will require surgery that should keep him out 4-6 weeks.

This means him missing more than 10 games.  In his absence, Oskars Bartulis will get the call.  Bartulis practiced with Sean O’Donnell and Braydon Coburn.  How the lines are rearranged has yet to be determined – whether he plays with Coburn and the pairing of O’Donnell and Meszaros stays together or Meszaros moves up and he takes the spot alongside O’Donnell.

Either way, the Flyers’ defensive depth is going to be tested in the coming weeks, as the stalwart Chris Pronger – who leads the team in blocked shots in the month of December – takes to the sidelines.
