Flyers mix it up, beat Kings 7-4

Needing to start fresh after an embarrassing loss going into the Christmas break, the Flyers looked to come out with a win against Vancouver to start this road trip. One more embarrassing loss later, they found themselves facing the Los Angeles Kings. Desperate for that fresh start that eluded them in Vancouver, the Flyers had to mix things up.

Week 17 NFL Power Rankings: Packers rise, Giants tumble

We have some closure on the playoff picture, at least in the AFC. With the Chargers loss and Jaguarsloss, both the Chiefs and Jets clinched a playoff berth, and now week 17 is all about playoff positioning.

That’s not the case in the NFC however.

Eagles blow playoff bye with abysmal performance

The snow that postponed the game came and went as quickly as the Eagles offense and their chances of a 1st round bye. In the first Tuesday night game in 64 years an offense that was explosive and dominant all season long, found themselves wishing they could redo this one.

The Eagles were the perfect fit for NBC on a Tuesday night. They were about as exciting as an episode of “Fraiser” – as they fell to the lowly Minnesota Vikings, 24 -14

 

The first half seemed zombie-like and lifeless as the Eagles offense did nothing (without the assistance of the referees). But, the Eagles struck first, despite seemingly playing in their pajamas.

Sometimes you make your breaks – other times your breaks make you. More often than not, a team’s play is made up of a little bit of each. That was the case with the Flyers last night in Vancouver, who failed to challenge the Canucks the way the NHL’s number one team should, and their bad bounces came as a result.

Eagles NFC East Champions

It wasn’t exactly the way the 70-some thousand ticket holders and millions of Eagles fans envisioned celebrating tonight if the Eagles were to clinch the NFC East division title. But nonetheless, the Eagles became NFC Eastern Division Champions for the sixth time under head coach Andy Reid Sunday night. Bars, homes and anywhere else Eagles fans found themselves stuck brightened up just a little bit with the news.
