Hard to believe, but there are just 14 days left before the NHL hits training camp after one of the most exciting Flyers seasons in recent memory.
The Philadelphia Flyers are coming off a season where they won the Eastern Conference title and made it to Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. What will this year bring the orange and black?
We have plenty of time to discuss that, so lets save that for a later date.
Furthermore, an interesting bit of news came out of the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ Wednesday. Recently released NHL veteran Bill Guerin, was seen working out in Flyers gear Wednesday morning, according to CSNPhilly.com’s Tim Panaccio.
Guerin, 39, was surprisingly released from the Pittsburgh Penguins on August 27th when the Pens decided not to bring him back to the team for the 2010-11 season.
Guerin told CSNPhilly.com that he would like to get a tryout offer from the Flyers. If the Flyers decide to sign Guerin, he would be a very influential addition to this already established club.
The 17-year veteran winger has won two Stanley Cups and is looking to play one more season in the NHL. Guerin, recorded four goals and nine points in 11 playoff games last season.
Guerin, has played in 1263 games and has totaled 856(429G, 427A) points with a career plus/minus of 51.
The Time has Come….Almost
Today, newcomers Jody Shelley and Andrej Meszaros arrived at the Flyers Skate Zone Wednesday and already have their lockers prepared. The pictures of their stalls can be seen on the Flyers official Twitter page @NHLFlyers.
Sophomore James van Riemsdyk also posted via his Twitter, that he has just returned to Philly to get ready for camp. (@JVReemer21)
