Eagles trade WR Brown

BY JARED NAGLE, Staff Writer

PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles have traded former second round pick Reggie Brown to the Tampa Bay Bucs for a 2011 sixth round pick.

Talk about good return on a draft pick. Brown was practically phased out of the offense with the emergence of Desean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, and Jason Avant in the last two seasons. He is probably Tamp Bay’s best reciever at this point, which says something about how far the receiving core has come in Philly in recent years (on top of how bad Tampa’s is). Unfortunately for WR Kevin Curtis he might be next, and his departure will likely come via release rather than trade due to his high salary.
