It’s never too early for… the NFL Draft!

Mock Draft 1.0

The NFL draft is 63 days away (who’s counting?). With the NFL Scouting Combine less then a week away, let’s take a look at how April’s draft might turn out.

Just remember, it’s two months away and you can’t ever get them all right. But these are some names to mark down as we get ready for the 2010 NFL Draft. My initial mock draft…

1. St.Louis Rams- DT Ndakomung Suh, Nebraska

2. Detroit Lions- DT Gerald Mccoy, Oklahoma

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DE Derrick Morgan, Georgia Tech

4. Washington Redskins- QB Sam Bradford, Oklahoma

5. Kansas City Chiefs- S Eric Berry, Tennessee

6. Seattle Seahawks- OT Anthony Davis, Rutgers

7. Cleveland Browns- CB Joe Haden, Florida

8. Oakland Raiders- DE Jason Pierre-Paul, South Florida

9. Buffalo Bills- OT Russel Okung, Oklahoma State

10. Denver Broncos (subject to coin toss)- QB Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame

11. Jacksonville Jaguars (subject to coin toss)- LB Rolando Mcclain, Alabama

12. Miami Dolphins- WR Dez Bryant, Oklahoma State

13. San Francisco 49ers- RB CJ Spiller, Clemson

14. Seattle Seahawks- OT Bryan Bulaga, Iowa

15. New York Giants- OT Bruce Campbell, Maryland

16. San Francisco 49ers- CB Kyle Wilson, Boise State

17. Tennessee Titans- CB Devin Mccourty, Rutgers

18. Pittsburgh Steelers- DE Jared Odrick, Penn State

19. Atlanta Falcons- DE Carlos Dunlap, Florida

20. Houston Texans- OG Mike Iupati, Idaho

21. Cincinati Bengals- S Taylor Mays, USC

22. New England Patriots- WR Demaryius Thomas, Georgia Tech

23. Green Bay Packers- DT Dan Williams, Tennessee

24. Philadelphia Eagles- DE Everson Griffen, USC

If a play for Julius Peppers goes array, look for the Eagles to target a defensive lineman in Round One. Griffen has a nice blend of size and speed and will be an immediate upgrade.

25. Baltimore Ravens- LB Brandon Graham, Michigan

26. Arizona Cardinals- LB Sean Weatherspoon, Missouri

27. Dallas Cowboys- S Nate Allen, South Florida

28. San Diego Chargers- S Earl Thomas, Texas

29. New York Jets- DT Terrence Cody, Alabama

30. Minnesota Vikings- DT Brian Price, UCLA

31. Indianapolis Colts- CB Kareem Jackson, Alabama

32. New Orleans Saints- LB Sergio Kindle, Texas

  1. Dez to the Dolphins makes sense, unless they pull off a Boldin trade (probably for their 3rd rounder), or if they sign Antonio Bryant. Then I see CJ Spiller as a sleeper choice for Miami.

I could see Spiller as a sleeper pick for Miami as well. It depends on if they address their more pressing needs, like for example a trade for Boldin. Miami needs a wideout and help in their front 7, but I could see them making a move for a playmaker like Spiller, especially if guys like Bryant and Mcclain are gone.
