In a constant effort to make High Hopes the go-to place for Phillies news and information and as part of a long term plan to expand upon the current foundation to become the best sports blog in Philadelphia, High Hopes and Managing Editor Shay Roddy are happy to announce that two new members will be joining our team.
Josh Kotzen- An Emmy, Addy, and PROMAX Award winning producer, writer and designer for TV, radio, the web, and print, Josh prides himself on hard work and dedication to his craft. He graduated from Rowan University with a B.A. in Communications and went straight to PRISM Network in Philadelphia, where he won an Emmy Award, among two nominations, for Outstanding Individual Achievement for a Writer/Programmer. While at PRISM, he also began work as a Sports Columnist for the Camden Courier Post. When PRISM was disbanded and Comcast SportsNet, the first ever regional all-sports network took over, he began work as a one-man promotions department, responsible for spreading the word about Comcast’s latest brainchild. From SportsNet he went to 6ABC where he won an Infinet Award, then to FOX 29 where he was nominated for two Emmys. From there he went to ABC News where he worked in promotions and won two PROMAX Gold Awards. He worked for the 76ers for two years as the creator, editor, and producer of Drive Magazine, a TV/Web feature. He went to “Good Morning America” as a a Producer/ Feature Producer in 2008. He then took the job as Managing Editor of South Jersey Magazine which included writing, conceiving, budgeting, planing and laying-out all creative and editorial content for the monthly 75,000 circulation magazine. Now he is back on City Avenue at 6ABC, working as a Producer. He has also written a widely popular book, Power Play, available wherever books are sold and on Amazon.com, which is soon to be made into a major motion picture. Chris DiFrancesco- After graduating with an Associates degree in Broadcasting and Journalism from Burlington County College, Chris focused himself toward becoming the most dedicated influential young sports writer in America. He started at Bleacher Report as a columnist and hosted a live weekly call-in radio show which drew praise from around the nation as being one of the best internet call-in shows on the air. Chris now serves as Sports Director for 107.7 The Bronc and attends Rider University, where he is working on a Bachelors Degree in Communications and Public Relations. Chris has inside access to all the local teams and makes daily trips to the Flyers’ and Phillies’ locker rooms after seeing each game from the press box. He is committed to his work, which can currently be read at his blog, Faceoff With Chris.
