PHILADELPHIA — The first day of May looked just like the beginning of April– Phillies starting pitching struggled early.  This time, it was Chan Ho Park for the Phils, who gave up eight hits, seven runs and six walks in just 4 2/3 innings last night. He put the Phillies in a 5-0 hole after the third inning.

People are already looking to J.A. Happ, who started the season in the bullpen after losing the fifth spot in the rotation to Park, to take his place.

“I’m not ready to say Chan Ho Park isn’t going to get more starts. No, I’m not ready to say that. But we’ll talk about it,” said disappointed Phillies manager Charlie Manuel in his post game press conference.

Offensively, the Phils looked ok, scoring three runs in the bottom of the third to make it 5-3 on Raul Ibanez’s two-out single with the bases loaded and another single from Pedro Feliz.  Chase Utley also hit a solo homer to right field in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early hole.

Tomorrow, the Phils will again host the Mets, in the FOX “Game of the Week.”  Jamie Moyer will take the ball for the Phils against Oliver Perez and the Mets.  Moyer will look to carry over the momentum from his terrific start in Florida, last week.  Game time is set for 3:40 to accommodate the national broadcast.  We will host a live game chat beginning at 3:30.  Look for that tomorrow.
