Phillies look to Hamels against the Rockies

The Phillies start their first road-trip of the season today at 4:10 PM at Coors Field in Colorado.  The late opening night scratch Cole Hamels will take the hill for the Phillies against Jason Marquis.

The Phillies will look to continue their road success, at 44-37 (.543) on the road in 2008, the Phillies finished with the best road record in the NL and 2nd-best in the majors (LAA: 50-31).

Cole Hamels has been particularly good on the road.  Last season he went 7-3, 3.19 ERA in 16 road starts.  He also pitched 7.0 or more innings in 12 of his 16 road starts.

However, Hamels has never pitched in the Mile-High City, where weird things are known to happen.  In his only career start against the Rockies, during the 2007 NLDS, he suffered the loss, going 6.2 IP, with 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 7 SO.

Here are today’s lineups (via David Murphy):

A quick note: For a little while now our “PhilliePhanatics.org” domain hasn’t been working.  I apologize for that, I finally got it all straightened out and it’s back up and running again.  We’re hoping for a “.com” domain, and I’m still working on that.  Thanks for your patience!
